The Regeneration of Rural (KIRCAN) (2020-2022) A project funded by UNDP GEF SGP of Güneşköy, with Elmadağ Municipality as one of the project partners. Elmadağ the nearest town, 15 km north of Güneşköy.
Project aims:
1.To extend the CSA to other villages of Elmadağ. Local producers and consumers at Elmadağ Municipality Open Air Market answered surveys. A workshop was organized for farmers to prepare and use eco-friendly, alternative pesticides. A compost-making machine was repaired to make compost from waste left when the market closed.
2. To raise awareness of local students about the impact of climate change, and possible measures to reduce this.
Activities:
A two-day workshop was organized in a Middle School in the nearest town, Elmadağ. Two students from each class participated in an interactive program about the impact of climate change and ways to prevent and reduce these effects, all participants received “Climate Ambassador Certificates”; a short film of the workshop is available online. were given to the students participating. With Elmadağ Municipality, a free lunch was served to the students and the school's teachers.
