So many visitors
Winter is progressing: recent rains watered the fields, now turning green with the early shoots of wheat or barley. So many concrete trucks driving fast and furious on the dirt tracks have caused deepening puddles, so much that a local farmer happens to have made soem speed humps to slow them down; at least they worked for us.
Celal was returning from 6 days with his family. Herkül, our dog, leapt with joy when he saw out vehicle. Though he had been fed during the week, he readily took the bread we offered and ran away to bury it.
Of our seven visitors, the most interesting was the team from Elmadağ municipality. Planners and project officer, they came to discuss possible cooperation. Who could / would be able to do what? Our earlier meeting was more technical: getting a local business proposal for installing security equipment; this was arranged by Talat, who 14 years ago worked during Güneşköy's first ever Community Supported Agriculture season.
Our other visitor, Ali Duman, came from Tahtacıörencik. He is a member of TADYA https://tahtaciorencik.org/info-page-on-tadya/ Today's menu was mine: spinach börek, and mustard leaf and rocket soup...
The rest of the day we spend gathering couch grass roots, unearthed when the field was ploughed. parts of the field look pale with the intensity of beige roots.
